Lionel Loose the Vinyl Moose | Vinyl & Plywood | 2021
Lionel Loose the Vinyl Moose is a sculpture created in collaboration with artist Michelle Mongey. Exhibited at the Fernie Arts Station as part of the Moose on the Loose public arts Festival, Feb-June 2021 in Fernie, BC.
Born in a time of uncertainty, Lionel is a reflection of the ways in which we have had to look at familiar things in new and creative ways. The artists had a blast sorting through the thrifted one-hit-wonders and worn-out albums while building Lionel–forgotten tunes blasting from a small garage on 4th Avenue.
‘Moosic makers’, Michelle and Soraya work with a variety of mediums to showcase their shared passion for the mountain lifestyle, creative expression, and sustainable futures. In true Fernie fashion, with one from Australia and one from Ontario - their friendship was forged while exchanging stories of past vanlife ventures, and the desire to pursue collaborative projects in the local community.
